Jocelyn Anderson, a passionate bird photographer with over five years of experience, recently captured a once-in-a-lifetime moment that has left bird enthusiasts amazed.

While photographing Great Blue Heron nestlings, Anderson witnessed a remarkable interaction: a red-winged blackbird hitching a ride on a stick carried by an osprey flying back to its nest!

With her quick reflexes, she snapped the incredible scene and shared it online, where it quickly went viral.

“The osprey adjusted its course, flying directly toward me,” Anderson shared with My Modern Met. “I could see it was carrying a stick for its nest, and then the blackbird appeared to be riding along! It followed the osprey halfway across the pond. I like to think it was enjoying the free ride.”

This extraordinary moment showcases not just Jocelyn’s skill but her dedication to capturing the wonders of nature. “Bird photography is a challenge, but it’s a rewarding way to glimpse their world,” she says.
